Patrick Hinds

Patrick is a virtuoso acoustic guitarist who uses unusual techniques to play mutli-part pieces. He often incorporates body percussion, finger-tapping and harmonics to make the most out of the instrument.

  • The director of ELM, he has a PhD in musicology from Durham University, along with a Masters of Music, Post-graduate Diploma and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Surrey.

  • He is an official artist of Timberline guitars and Faith guitars and has been endoresed by D’addario and Mooer audio.

  • Patrick is a professional performer; he has played with Rick Wakeman and Sue Perkins in the Orion Orchestra, performed with the Albert Hall House band and with the Royal College of Music Orchestra and runs regular showcase nights at the Temple of Art and Music. He’s also performed at the Scala, Hilton Park Lane, the Dorchester and many other venues.

  • Patrick has over 15 years of teaching, recording and performing experience.

  • Fully operational professional studio available near Canary Wharf, with high-end audio and video recording available.

  • Winner of an Arts and Humanities Research Council award for PhD study

  • Patrick has recorded with various artists and labels in studios including Metropolis, Premises, Chapel Studios, Attic Sounds, Bush Studios, and many others.
